This is a paper pieced double wedding ring pattern. None of the rings are attached to anything yet. I just wanted to see how the rings might look. This will be a wall hanging eventually. Each ring took about 45 minutes to piece and press. Originally double wedding ring quilts were appliqued, not pieced, according to the lady I got the pattern from. I want to try hand applique - for a summer project. The rings will have more overlap so a football shape will appear between the side of each ring. Supposedly!

First Post
I have been so inspired by others' blogs in the sewing/crafting area that I want to start one for the things happening in my crafting/sewing studio. I sew for fun and gifting, and also do repair for hire. Maybe some day this will be my retirement. I currently have a former bedroom as my area, over a garage with great southern exposure windows for natural light and one on the north (street side) to keep me in the "real" world. I often have two cats perched just outside the room as they are not allowed in here - too much chance of them eating thread! I have a computer, a tv for the old movies I avidly watch when in this room, 4 sewing machines, a serger and 2 embroidery machines and very little other room, but I spend many weekend hours here. My goal with this blog is to show some of my creations and progress on some.
